Free Write-10/28 What does propaganda have to do with production of food in the U.S.?

Propaganda is what influences our decisions and opinions of certain foods. It portrays some foods better than others even though they may not actually be healthy. The way it depicts certain foods makes us decide on what or what not to eat. There may be ads of certain foods showing how tasty they are and even though they may not be healthy they are portrayed as not being harmful so that people can purchase them. It may cause us to choose certain brands of food over others. It causes companies to produce food in the way that will satisfy Americans and will make them feel good about themselves. Therefore, the production of food can contain certain chemicals or preservatives that make the food look appealing to satisfy the people's desires but in turn are harmful to the people without them being aware. Propaganda and the media know what the people and society as a whole desire, and how hey think and what matters to them. So they depict these desires so that the U.S. can produce what the people want and they benefit. The production of food in the U.S. is made upon that so that certain brands or companies could gain more profit by the people's approval. However, in order to satisfy everyone's desires the production of food comes with risks because these foods are made with preservatives, chemicals, and other ingredients that despite making them appealing, also make them harmful.
